Job Description

KAID is seeking a experienced Senior level interior Designer specializing in multifamily and hospitality design. We are looking for a creative professional who can handle all aspects of the design process, from concept development to client meetings with the backend support of our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design and the ability to create unique and innovative solutions in existing and new developments. Experience with product design, specifically developing original broadloom carpet designs and original lighting fixtures, is a plus.

Team is designed to let you focus on creative, details and specifying. Initial survey drafting, FFE purchasing, coordination and project management during construction is not in scope.

Responsibilities:
1. Client Engagement and Presentations: Meet with clients to understand their requirements, preferences, and design goals. Present design concepts, progress updates, and final deliverables to clients, ensuring effective communication and maintaining a strong client relationships.
2. Project Planning: Establish project scope, budgets and timelines with Construction Project Manager
3. Concept Development & Space Planning: Generate creative and functional design concepts that align with the client's vision, project requirements, and building esthetic. Develop space plans, including furniture layout, material selection, and color schemes.
4. Collaboration: Coordinate with staff draftsman, architect, purchasing, and project management team to ensure seamless project execution and adherence to your design intent.
5. Documentation: Review construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and schedules, in compliance with building codes, regulations, and project requirements.
6. Material Specifications: Research and select appropriate materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE)

Job Requirements

Requirements:
1.Professional degree in Architecture or Interior Design
2. Minimum 5-7 years of experience in interior design, focusing on hospitality design and multifamily projects.
3. Proven track record of successfully delivering interior design projects from concept to completion.
4. Proficiency in industry-standard design software, such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Illustrator, Photoshop, Rhino.
5. Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and ADA requirements.
6. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey design concepts to HOA Boards and Developers.
7. Strong organizational and project management abilities, with the capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
8. Attention to detail and a keen eye for textures and modern design.
9. Experience in developing original broadloom carpet and original lighting fixtures is a plus.
10. Must be a US citizen and located within 1.5 hr drive of New York City. No exceptions.
