On Monday, Nov. 10, the design industry gathered at the Pierre Hotel in New York City to honor two forces in the business: interior designer Timothy Corrigan and Executive Vice President of Hermès Guillaume de Seynes. They were chosen by the French Heritage Society for their work furthering the society's mission: to protect the French architectural legacy in France and the United States.

Corrigan is an American interior decorator obsessed with old French estates and the French decorative style. He's recently completed a restoration and decoration of his own Château du Grand-Lucé in the Loire Valley, which is also the subject of his recent design tome.

“It was a huge thrill to be honored by The French Heritage Society, along side the hallmark of taste and elegance, Hermès,” Corrigan said. “As a designer, I am constantly reminded that there really are no new ideas and we must constantly draw from history; the only way that we can do this is to maintain the landmarks from the past. This is one of the reasons why the work done by the French Heritage Society is so important."

De Seynes flew in from Paris for the occasion, accepting the honor on behalf of the iconic French luxury brand.
The dinner was hosted by French Ambassador Gérard Araud, Consul General of France in New York Bertrand Lortholary, FHS Chairman Elizabeth F. Stribling, and FHS President Denis de Kergorlay.

Proceeds from the event will support the French Heritage Society's grant program, which funds restoration projects of French architectural gems in both countries, as well as teaches students, young professionals and the general public via cultural educational programs and internships.
