Schumacher names new CEO, former jewelry industry exec

For the second time in their 30-year history, Schumacher, the luxury fabric house, has appointed a non-family member to to run the company. Gerald W. Puschel, the current president and CEO, will retire by the end of 2010 and remain with the company as Chairman of the Board. He was the fourth family member to run the company.

Terri Eagle was president and CEO of London-based jewelry maker Garrard and Stephen Webster. She also served as president and CEO of John Hardy USA and David Yurman. Her career began at L'Oreal USA and she has held executive posts at Revlon and Montblanc North America.

"We are proud to welcome Terri Eagle to F. Schumacher & Co. and our family looks forward to supporting her as she capitalizes on her wealth of experience in the luxury industry to lead the Company into its next phase of growth," said Puschel to writer Marc Weinreich in a report for Fabrics & Furnishings International. "Terri is well known for her strong leadership skills and deep management expertise, and we are confident that under Terri’s leadership F. Schumacher & Co. will begin an exciting new chapter in its storied 121 year history.”
