“The Townhouse,” a documentary chronicling the restoration, decoration and renewal of an Upper East Side townhouse, premiered July 13 with an evening party held at Sacco Carpet in New York. Hosted by designer and film subject Sarah Magness, the evening heralded the premiere of the short film, produced by SilverLining Interiors. The documentary follows a five-and-a-half-year process, from the points of view of the architect, builder, interior designer and homeowner, of the restoration of the historic home. Following the screening, BAFTA’s Luke Parker Bowles moderated a discussion with the creators. Among the 90 guests were Marc Sacco, Kim Steube, Josh Wiener, Brian E. Boyle, Jonathan Robinson, Thomas A. Kligerman, Michael Cox, Kate Kelly Smith, Mark Cunningham, Meg Touborg, Erik Perez, Keith Granet, Marcello Lucchetta, Douglas Wright, Bryan Dicker, Jon Pageler and Ami-Lynn Bakshi.
Magness tells EAL, “The Townhouse” was an amazing residential project that captured all phases of design, but most importantly, had the foundation of the key contributors—builder, architect, designer, client—who collaborated to make it become truly extraordinary.”
