With 25 designer mood boards spread throughout the Friar's Club in New York City last week, the design community reveled at what Phase II of the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island’s (RMH-LI) Project Design will soon look like.

To celebrate the momentous renovation, which is scheduled to be completed later this fall, RMH-LI hosted a pre-construction party with over 45 participating designers in attendance as well as members of the Kravet team and NYC&G (New York Cottages & Gardens), both sponsors of the project.

“Fundraisers like these play a crucial role in insuring that the House can continue to operate and house families in need," said Ellen Kravet. "Kravet is thrilled to be an integral part of Project Design for the second year, and we are very grateful for the support that the design industry has shown."

In an effort to provide a comfortable reprieve for the families of seriously ill children who are receiving treatment at the hospital adjacent to the RMI-LI, last summer Phase I of Project Design transformed 18 bedrooms and several common areas. Phase II will continue with the addition of 24 bedrooms, four kitchens, five common areas, laundry rooms and the creation of a brand new fitness center and meditation room.

“Transforming the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island into a permanent space that lends itself to a peaceful environment for families of seriously ill children is a rewarding experience," said Suzanne Costa, Project Design 2014 Design Chair, RMH-LI Board Member. "I am proud of the esteemed designers who have stepped up to the challenge to support such a wonderful cause.”
