Star-studded committee heads LA Antiques Art + Design Show

The 17th annual Los Angeles Antiques, Art + Design Show announces its host committee for the Opening Night Party October 10, which includes leaders from the worlds of entertainment, culture, the arts and design. The list was announced by Wendy Kaplan, Department Head and Curator, LACMAs Decorative Arts and Design Council (DADC) and Oliver M. Furth, Chair, Decorative Arts and Design Council.

The committee includes: Debbie and Mark Attanasio, Colleen and Bradley Bell, Allison and Larry, Berg, Bianca Chen, Evgenia Citkowitz and Julian Sands, Ellen DeGeneres, and Portia de Rossi, Andrea Fiuczynski, James Franco, Ken Fulk, Steven Gambrel, Ric and Suzanne Kayne, Diane Keaton, Pearl Lam, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Eliza Osborne, Alexander and Alison Palevsky, Suzanne and Frederic Rheinstein, Michael S. Smith, Rose Tarlow, Kelly Wearstler and Brad Korzen.

The list of participating exhibitors includes both returning and first-time vendors. Of the 60 participants, Daniel Stein Antiques Inc. and T. Reggiardo Antiques from San Francisco will be returning along with Los Angeles-based galleries Habite and Dragonette, among others.

For the first time in its rich history, the show will include contemporary art and 21st century design. Debuting presenters include Copenhagen’s Danish Silver, London-based Stephen Kalms, Atlanta-based Jon Eric Riis, New Hampshire’s

Antique American Wicker and world-renowned antiquarian Joel Chen of JF Chen of Los Angeles. Chen will also be honored by LACMA’s DADC with its Design Leadership Award during the Opening Night Party for his extraordinary contributions spanning four decades as a gallerist, impresario, and philanthropist.

Also new to the show this year is a sculptural venue entrance erected by Los Angeles-based design and architecture firm, Oyler Wu.

Tickets are now available for the Opening Night Party commencing with a Collectors Preview Hour beginning at 6 pm followed by the cocktail reception at 7 pm., featuring DJ Dublab.
