London’s Design Center hosts annual Market

This year’s London Design Week, hosted by the Design Centre Chelsea Harbor, is all about exceptional design that delights the eye, and feels good to the touch. Programming throughout the week includes the ‘All Access Areas’ showroom workshops, curated tours of the design centre and beyond, ‘Conversations in Design’ sessions with top industry names, and much more.

Designers Charlotte Moss & Francis Sultana

Headline speakers include U.S. tastemaker Charlotte Moss in conversation with Susan Crewe, and international designer Francis Sultana who talks to Lucia van der Post about the power of art.

Tricia Guild & Patrick Frey

A designer forum sees Tricia Guild, Robin Levien and Neisha Crosland discuss new directions in interior design with Giles Kime. Acclaimed designer Michael Anastassiades in conversation with Michelle Ogundehin discusses his purity of vision while Charlotte Abrahams talks to Patrick Frey about the role of a broad creative approach.

A professional practice seminar sees a distinguished panel discussing trading opportunities for design in Brazil, Latin America’s design powerhouse. Tim Gosling speaks to leading design authorities including Adam Hunter and Dr Jerzy Kierbuc-Bielinski about the influence of great architects of the past.

James Stourton, former chair of Sotheby’s, is guiding guests to London’s architectural gems. Then, an afternoon learning about the crossover between fashion and interiors can be spent with Eleanora Cunietti, Allegra Hicks and Marianne Cotterill. Then a special in conversation session follows with Jamie Theakston and Suzanne Imrie telling what has inspired his stunning home projects.

Finally, take part in a morning of informative talks in association with KLC School of Design packed with imaginative ideas and practical tips for city living with Julia Begbie and Pete Bonney.

The week will host numerous book signings including Bronwyn Cosgrave and Charlotte Sinclair with the Vogue On series.

With the ‘All Access Areas’ guests will get a look inside over 35 informal and informative workshops, ‘meet the designer’ sessions and showroom presentations. Partnering with leading design authorities this new addition to Design Week promises a diverse mix, all offering exclusive insights into the design world.

Pimentel-Reid

If you want to shop the show like an editor then join industry insider and stylist Emilio Pimentel-Reid for a curated tour as he reveals his secret resources.

The design of the pop-up Tatler Restaurant has been specially commissioned for Design Week. Check it out in all its glory for breakfast, lunch and tea. Join Mariella Tandy for morning coffee as she talks about how to surf the new looks in interiors.

Guests will also have access to the ‘Great Design Blog.’ With breaking news, key design directions as well as interviews with the people who make great design happen, this blog offers unprecedented access as the show unfolds.

Show exhibitors that will be featuring new spring and summer collections include: Armani/Casa, Beacon Hill, Brunschwig & Fils, Christian Fischbacher, Flexform, Kravet, Lee Jofa, Porta Romana, Robert Allen, Zimmer & Rhode and many more.

There will be a complimentary shuttle service leaving Sloane Square to Design Centre Chelsea Harbour, via selected Chelsea showrooms throughout each day.

Design Week will begin with a to-the-trade preview from Sunday, March 17 – Tuesday, March 19. The show is open to the public from Wednesday, March 20 – Friday, March 22 from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. For more event details and the schedule of times, email or visit the website.
